Silver Mountain Resort in Idaho is beautiful. This day was special to me, both because of the location and because the couple I worked with were so much fun. They were extremely nice and their love for one another was evident the entire day.
The Wedding Day
The day started with some getting ready photos down at the resort. Silver Mountain Resort’s beautiful rooms make for great getting ready photos.

From there I rode the Gondola up to the top of Silver Mountain Resort to prep for the first-look and vow reading. The mountain was still foggy and we found a beautiful spot to do photos I love doing outdoor wedding photography in the Pacific Northwest because the scenery is just so incredibly gorgeous.

After the vow reading we moved into posed couple photos. Silver Mountain Resort was kind enough to let us do some wedding photos on the ski lift. The couple loved skiing together so these photos were especially meaningful to them.

The ceremony was next. One of the things I love about Silver Mountain is the beautiful wood stage blends in to the wooded backdrop. The view is incredible and the location allowed me to get beautiful compositions and candid photos during the ceremony.

Then it was time for cocktail hour. After everyone hung out we did exit photos before continuing the party at the bottom of Silver Mountain.

Tips for getting married at Silver Mountain.
If you have part of the wedding at the base of the mountain and some at the top, make sure you schedule time to move between locations. The gondola takes about 25 minutes. The couple scheduled me to get up a bit early to scout out first-look options before the bride arrived. Depending on the time of day the light will change. Having your photographer ride up early to scope out the best spots for photos will be a lifesaver.
See if you can take photos on the ski lift. These are some of the most fun photos I’ve gotten to take in my career and I know the couple loves them!
Make a checklist so you don’t forget to bring anything up the mountain! It will take a while to send anyone down to pick up forgotten items. A checklist will help you make sure you aren’t waiting on important makeup or suite accessories when your wedding is about to start!
I hope you consider getting married at Silver Mountain Resort in Idaho. As a Spokane Wa, wedding photographer I love their space and would highly recommend it to couples looking for wedding venues in the Pacific Northwest.
